What does it mean to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle?
Reduce means the reduction of consumption of materials, resources, water, and energy. It also means reduction of the production of waste. Reduce is the hardest of the three R's. It requries the most change in lifestyle. It is often the most overlooked, but it is the most important.
Reuse of materials, objects, and products is pretty straightforward. Reuse an item when you can. Donate when you no longer have a use for it. And buy used when its available.
Recycling has become much easier over the years. Nearly everybody recycles to some extent. But recycling alone is not the answer. Reducing and reusing requre some change in habits or lifestyle. You must be willing to adjust the way you think about consumption and perservation of natural resources.
